As we breathe life into May…
This is a general collective reading of the energy of May. Below is my own interpretation of the cards that appeared before me.
As always take what resonates, and burn the rest!
There is a moment when the soul says, “now.”
Like the instant a light turns green when you’ve been waiting, knowing you’re already late for something that matters.
March asked for discernment, for patience. April asked for presence, for devotion.
May says the waiting is over.
Like a flame catching in dry wood.
This is that moment.

An activation.
A new beginning.
Pure primordial will.
In the language of the Ace of Wands, this is the hand of the divine extending fire into matter. In Kabbalistic terms, it is the descent of force from Chokmah into form, the first flash of creation before it is shaped, named or understood.
This fire is not naive. It is born from the scythe of Death, a deep, unavoidable transformation. Something has ended. Entirely. A way of being, a story, a structure you once leaned on.
And from that ending comes the spark.
You’ve been working. You’ve been learning how to hold the tension.
Through the steady devotion of the Eight of Pentacles, you returned to the bench of your own becoming. You carved meaning out of repetition. You chose discipline when chaos would have been easier.
There is a tangible culmination here in May, one that is earned. The quiet sovereignty of the Nine of Pentacles: material success, self-sufficency.

This is transmutation, lead into gold.
In Jungian terms, the ego has endured confrontation with the unconscious and returned with structure intact. In alchemical language, this is coagulatio, spirit made stable in form.
Even gold remembers the fire.
There is grief here, but it is changing shape.
The Five of Cups (Reversed) hints at something lifting. Something no longer ruling the inner landscape. It is the grief of the beginner.
The grief of standing at the edge of something, once uncertain, unformed. Hopeful and not knowing how it would unfold.
That callow version of you is no longer leading. You are stepping into something more mature now: an embodiment of The Victor, of self-control, of integration.
You are no longer asking permission. You are declaring, “I will.”

Last month, a huge focus was on learning to balance dualities. We felt this spark culminating, but the earth was not ready. We were not ready. Integration was required.
The Knight of Wands shows us our arrival like wind over flame. Movement, momentum, ignition.
You are not just moving forward. You are mastering the forces that move you. You are emerging from contemplation into embodiment.
Beneath the motion there is a tenderness.
The Three of Swords (Reversed) speaks of a pain that has not been denied, but is now being released. Perhaps the heartbreak from March is subsiding.
This is the slow unwinding of mental anguish. The loosening of old fears. The settling of nerves that once lived close to the surface.
It is as if the storm has passed, and now the body is learning what it means to be still again.
You are moving from grief into acceptance. You are beginning to see the WHY.
Part of you might be wondering, how can grief exist alongside success, alongside forward motion?
Because something is ending. Not the dream, but the innocence that first held it.

We may stand at the base of the mountain and imagine the summit, see ourselves there, breathing in the climb, satisfied.
Before the trek there is only vision. Pure potential. The puer aeternus, the puella aeterna.
The landscape of all that can be spread in front of us, wild and fertile.
Then we begin.
We lace our shoes.
We press our weight into the earth and leave the imprint of our mounds into the dirt.
We collect sweat on our shoulders and move under the heat of the day. With each step forward, something silently falls away. The untouched openness of what could be.
That’s the grief of maturing. Not loss of the path, but loss of all the paths we did not take.
What is ending is subtle, but profound: A blockage in the Water of Fire.
In alchemical terms, this is the imbalance where passion (Fire) overwhelms emotional flow (Water), or where feeling dampens will. It can appear as diminished self-confidence, misdirected power, or emotional undercurrents disrupting forward motion (see also: the energy of the last two months).
This obstruction is dissolving. Fire is no longer consuming. Water is no longer resisting.
They are beginning to speak the same language.
You are being guided toward a higher order of understanding. This new beginning is not just material. It is initiatory. The wand is not just action. It is illumination.
You are stepping into spiritual clarity, aligned will, a deeper relationship with your own inner authority.
This is movement toward individuation, the Self emerging, not as an idea alone, but a lived reality.

Stand for a moment in the field you have cultivated.
Look at what has grown. The crocus. The green shoot.
Not everything survived.
Not everything was meant to.
What remains
what has taken root
is yours.
And now, in your hand,
a flame.
Numerology of the month: 11
Keywords: Intimate Knowledge. Heightened Intuition. Illumination. Higher Consciousness. Spiritual Insight. Inner Knowing. Integration of Opposites. Responsibility to Embody Truth. Activation. Spiritual Transformation. Motion. Evolution.

The number 11 is formed by two unities. It is the core principle of alchemy, Solve et Coagula. Solve means dissolve. Coagula means to bind or join together. It describes the dissolution of the ego and unconscious patterns, followed by their integration into a more unified, mature self.
The transmutation of the number 11 reveals itself as follows: 1 plus 1 equals 2. Energy of 1, of self, will, initiation, is amplified with all of the energy of 2. It is a reminder that growth happens through relationship. Opposites meeting, not to cancel each other out, but to create something whole. Positive and Negative. Active and Passive. Masculine and Feminine. Osiris and Isis. Shiva and Parvati. Sun and Moon. Fire and Water. Heat and Cold. Volatile and Fixed. Sulfur and Mercury. Father and Mother.
The number 11 is a Master Number because it holds duality without collapsing it. It is a heightened awareness of self. It is seeing yourself clearly. It forces integration. Eleven is the most intuitive of all numbers.

In the Mayan Tzolk’in calendar, cosmic tone 11 is The Spectral. It is the energy of resolution and change. Eleven holds the power of dissolution through release. It is like a light switch, holding that space between what is and what will be. Tone 11 creates the link between now and then.
Sometimes things must come undone to make space for what is ready to arrive. Through letting go of what no longer serves, and what we thought we were, we come back to our essence.
In the I-Ching, Hexagram 11, T’Hai, Peace or Tranquility, is yin and yang in harmonious relationship. Above is Earth (receptive, yin) and below is Heaven (strength, yang). Only when yin and yang are in right relationship is it possible to accomplish things. The small departs, the great approaches.
In the path of bringing about peace, there is firing process, or illumination of one’s own mind. Tranquility is mastery: strength anchored within, flexibility expressed without. Through disciplined self-governance and compassion toward others, the mind is tempered into humility, and the character is refined.

In a world that moves quickly, choosing to pause, to reflect, to go internally, is no small thing. Whether you read every word slowly or skim what calls to you, I’m grateful you are here.
A Few Questions to Sit With
For those beholden of pen, the journalers…some questions to help guide you into the month.
- What part of my identity no longer fits who I am becoming?
- In what ways have I become more self-sufficient? What has this cost me?
- What possibilities did I have to release in order to walk my current path?
- Where am I ready to move from understanding my pain to releasing it?
- Where am I being called to act, even if I don’t feel fully ready?
- What would it look like to trust my momentum instead of questioning it?
- What truth have I become aware of that I can no longer ignore?
- What feels clearer now than it did a month ago?
- What opposing forces exist within me right now? How can I let them work with each other instead of against each other?
- Where am I learning to balance strength with softness?
- Where in my life am I no longer forcing and starting to flow?
- If I fully trusted this phase of my life, what would I do next?
“See” you next month!
