As we spring into April…

I have pulled the Knight of Pentacles, Queen of Wands, Knight of Swords, and Page of Pentacles. This is a general collective reading of the energy of April. Below is my own interpretation of the cards that appeared for me.

As always take what resonates, and compost the rest!

This April, we are collectively coming into contact with the parts of ourselves that are transforming our identity.

There is a wisdom within you that did not arrive all at once. It has been forming beneath the surface, molded in seasons you may not have fully witnessed while you were living them. Now, as spring opens, that inner light meets the outer world. As above, so below. What has been cultivated in the unseen breathes life into form. A source of power within you is ready to be lived, not just understood.

You’ve been doing the work, real work. This work asks you to hold the tension between ego and intuition, between conscious awareness and the shadow that contrasts. This is not light work (though…it is working with the light). It’s the process of becoming whole, rooted in a deeper inner authority.

This message echoes what March asked of you: patience, discernment, discipline. That energy has not left. It is still with you. Now there is a sign of confirmation. Integration is occurring. Much of the work now is happening through your will, your intention. It is already in motion. Change is here. The invitation is to remain engaged as it unfolds.

This evolution of consciousness is a spiral rather than a straight path forward. Each layer of growth does not replace the one before it, it includes it. The instinct to survive, the desire to belong, the drive to achieve, the call to care, all of it remains within you. Light does not consume the dark, it reveals it. Like two currents moving at once, the expanding and the grounding, the visible and the unseen. Your work is not to choose one over the other, but to hold both, allowing a more integrated self to emerge.

What you’ve been tending internally is beginning to root externally. There is life pressing upward toward light. As this beginning emerges, remember polarity. Growth does not eliminate duality, it requires you to hold it. The dark soil and the green shoot, both necessary. Your intuition is not something to chase right now. It is already seated within you, steady, waiting for relationship.

In the words of St. Thomas Aquinas, “Justice without mercy is cruelty; mercy without justice is the mother of dissolution.” This principle echoes here, the law of action and consequence is non-negotiable. You are being called to embody what you’ve come to realize, to move from insight into empowered action. To take the wise, observing owl within you, the part that sees clearly even in uncertainty, and influences your outer world from that place. The part of you that does not panic in the dark. Responsibility arises here not as a burden, but as alignment between your inner knowing and lived reality.

At the same time, truth may be arriving quickly, and at times it may feel sharp. Let it. The path revealing itself does not ask for urgency even if its impulsiveness breaches whim. It still asks for presence. The grounding energy of pentacles continues to move through April, reminding you again that what is built slowly is what lasts. Move at a pace that allows what you are stepping into to become real, embodied, and sustainable.

Pay attention to the ego’s urge to dominate or prove. Notice the impulses that push for movement before grounding has weighed opposite. Be aware of self-doubt or fear that arises as you stand at the edge of something new. These are not enemies. They are signals inviting you to stay conscious as you continue, to stay humble as the impetus within you gathers.

Do you desire to be healed? Then, heal others. Do you yearn for a world without illusion? Then, embody truth.

The energy of April is rooted in daily devotion. Not performance, not force, not the projection of power, but consistency. Like tending a fire in June, like watering something that cannot yet speak. This is about building something that can hold weight because it has been shaped through integration.

Numerology of the month: 14

When pulling numbers for the month, The Hierophant (5) and the 9 of Wands arrived, pointing to a cycle of initiation through endurance, where structure meets resilience and the path is shaped through lived experience.

Keywords: Karmic lessons around moderation. Divine timing. Integration. Transition. Freedom. Discipline. Adaptable. Conscious change. Evolution through experience. Avoidance of responsibility. Chaos without grounding. Learning to move without losing center.

The number 14 bridges the mental (1) and material (4) realms, creating a living balance between thought and form. When reduced, it becomes 5, a symbol of power. It calls for intelligent action and steady vigilance, asking you to move without losing your center.

The number 14 holds a negotiation between worlds, weaving balance, harmony, and diplomacy into a single, living thread. Transformation here is not about choosing one force over another, but about holding both, allowing evolution to occur through lived experience rather than force alone. From the abyss between thought and fact, projections may arise, but they are not meant to solidify into reality.

In the Mayan Tzolk’in calendar, Ix (the 14th day glyph) is the priestess of the unseen. She is the guardian of intuition, weaving together earth, magic, and the subtle forces that shape reality from behind the veil.

Ix invites us to balance great success with great humility. This symbol teaches wisdom, the power to perform miracles, and the ability to create with thought.

In the I-Ching, Hexagram 14, Dayou, Great Possession, speaks to a moment where abundance is not just received, but entrusted. Like the sun at its highest point, illuminating all it touches, this energy reflects a fullness that must be met with clarity and responsibility. Power must be carried wisely.

Power guided by wisdom, resources shaped by principle. True possession here is not ownership, but stewardship. This is abundance that tests character, asking not just what you can build, but what you are willing to sustain and share.

In a world that moves quickly, choosing to pause, to reflect, to go internally, is no small thing. Whether you read every word slowly or skim what calls to you, I’m grateful you are here.

A Few Questions to Sit With

For those beholden of pen, the journalers…some questions to help guide you into the month.

  • What parts of myself am I currently being asked to acknowledge, rather than fix or suppress?
  • What does “wholeness” feel like in my body, not just in my mind?
  • Where in my life am I trying to choose between two forces instead of holding the complexity of both?
  • When have I experienced tension that later revealed itself as necessary for growth?
  • What resources, gifts, or responsibilities have recently been entrusted to me?
  • Am I using my power in a way that aligns with my deeper values?
  • What does responsible abundance look like in my life right now?
  • Where is my intuition already clear, but I am hesitating to trust it?
  • How can I become more attuned to what is unseen but felt?
  • When do I feel most connected to my inner knowing?
  • What would it look like to act from alignment rather than reaction today?
  • Where can I practice devotion through small, consistent actions?

“See” you next month!
